According to the researches corrosion and the damage sourcing from corrosion is aproximately about % 2- 5 of the gross national product. According to special purpose entities and places this proportion changes. And this affects the productivity and profitability of the entity negatively. If the necessary precautions are not taken it even results in the collapse of the entity or making the entity nonrenewable. Many methods are used in the struggle with corrosion. The major ones are: Cathodic protection( to subsoil, water and subwater systems ), Anodic protection ( water and acidic environments ), metallic and nonmetallic coatings ( partially water, acidic and atmospheric environments ) and dyeing ( generally atmospheric and watery encironments.
It is applied to water, subwater and subsoil systems. As corrosion is a chemical phenomenon electron flow is seen. In nature there are elements that are relatively stronger or weaker chemically. The stronger elements takes electron from the weaker ones and thus corrode the weaker elements. To protect the weaker elements from corrosion either balance is achieved by external electron giving to the stronger elements or it is realized by cutting the connection of the environment that the electron flow is realized by making inter-construction polarization. This action is called as cathodic protection.

Corrosion:
It is the deformation of the metal and metal alloys because of the chemical and electro chemical reactions with their surroundings. Also in recent years the non metal materials are detected to be corroded and their systems are under research.
It is applied mostly to land pipelines and partially to submarine pipelines. This application is made for the control of cathodic protection on working properly on every spot during the project phase or after cathodic protection is applied.
The Controls of Coating Damage: To make an efficient cathodic protection detecting the damage of the pipelines and maintaning the unsuitable spots is necessary. These two methods are the most economical ones fort he detection of the coating damage:

ACVG Survey : An alternative flow and a certain frequency is given to the pipeline. This frequency is followed moving on the line. The spots on which the frequency changes are detected according to the intensity. These spots are the possible coating damage spots.
After the engineering and the project phases are completed, there comes the montage phase.

* The materials are prepared for application.
* The technical staff necessary for this work is charged.
* The details of the project is applied with great care.
* In the pipelines transformer redressor units, anode beds, measurement boxes, cable connection and welding are done.
* In the sea, preparation of diving equipments, sending of the materials under the sea, duly welding and connecting of the cables are done.
